Carly Ray Hagey was crowned Miss Rodeo Illinois 2008 at the PRCA rodeo in Palestine, IL on September 2, 2007, at the Pioneer City Rodeo. The 20-year-old from Tremont, Ill., is currently a freshman at Black Hawk College - East Campus in Kewanee, Ill.  There she is pursuing degrees in Equine Science and Horse Science Technology.  After completing the two-year program she plans to attend a four-year university with the goal of becoming an Equine Science Professor.

She is the daughter of Curt and Polly Hagey.  Carly Ray has one younger sister, Jessy, who plans to follow in her footsteps as a spokeswoman for rodeo in Illinois.  Growing up in the Hagey family was what gave her a start in the horse world.  She quickly developed a passion for rodeo and the cowboy way of life.

“I love that I was able to grow up and enjoy spending time with my whole family while still competing against them at a rodeo or a barrel race! As Miss Rodeo Illinois 2008, my goal is to spread the enthusiasm of professional rodeo throughout the state of Illinois.  I plan to attend various PRCA rodeos and other significant events across the nation.”
